John Leslie Curtis illustrated theatrical posters and worked on Australian comic books from the 1940s. Curtis was equally adept at detailed black and white line work as he was at illustrative painting and had a prolific output of sequential work as well as illustrations and cover artwork over his career. His comic work was mainly created for Press Features Service, Horwitz Publications, and also Frew Publications.
